Average earnings (wages), August 2026

The average earnings (gross) in Montenegro in August 2026 are 1 242 euro, while the average earnings without taxes and contributions (net) are 1 040 euro. The average earnings without taxes and contributions (net) in August 2026 comparing to July 2026 increased for 0.3%, while the average earnings without taxes and contributions (net) in August 2026 comparing to the same month of the previous year increased for 2.5%.

Having in mind that consumer prices in August 2026 comparing to July 2026 increased for 1.2% the results is that real earnings without taxes and contributions (net) in the same period decreased for 0.9%.

At the sector level, the average earnings without taxes and contributions (net) in August 2026 compared to July 2026 increased in the following sectors: Other service activities (2.1%), Real estate activities (1.0%), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (0.9%), Water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (0.8%), Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.5%), Education (0.5%), Financial and insurance activities (0.4%), Manufacturing (0.3%), Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (0.3%), Transportation and storage (0.3%), Accommodation and food service activities (0.3%) and Human health and social work activities (0.2%).

There was a decrease in the following sectors: Arts, entertainment and recreation (2.2%), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (0.9%), Information and communication (0.9%), Administrative and support service activities (0.9%), Construction (0.6%), Professional, scientific and technical activities (0.5%) and Mining and quarrying (0.3%).
