External trade in goods of Montenegro January - February 2020

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for period January - February 2020 according to preliminary results is 391.6 million EUR, indicating the growth of 6.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
 
The value of exports of goods was 61.2 million EUR, and import was 330.4 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 1.6%, while imports increased by 7.1%.
 
The coverage of import by export was 18.5% and it was lower compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 19.5%.
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 17.2 million EUR (consisted of Electric current – 14.3 million EUR, Petroleum, petroleum products and related materials – 1.9 million EUR and other).
 
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 76.8 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles – 25.5 million EUR, Electric machines, appliances – 16.1 million EUR and other).
 
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (14.4 million EUR), Slovenia (8.9 million EUR) and Hungary (5.5 million EUR).
 

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (54.5 million EUR), China (33.0 million EUR) and Germany (30.8 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
