External trade in goods of Montenegro January 2021

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for january 2021 according to preliminary results is 128.1 million EUR, indicating the decline of 24.7% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 25.3 million EUR, and import was 102.8 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports decreased by 19.0%, while imports decreased by 25.9%.

The coverage of import by export was 24.6% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 22.5%.

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 8.5 million EUR (consisted of Electric current – 7.7 million EUR, and other, Coal, coke and briguettes - 599 thousand EUR and other).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 22.7 million EUR (consisted of: Electric machines, appliances - 6.4 million EUR, Road vehicles – 5.7 million EUR, and other).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia ( 6.1 million EUR), Slovenia (2.8 million EUR) and Bosnia and Hercegovina (2.0 million EUR).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (20.5 million EUR), China (13.3 million EUR) and Germany (10.2 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
