The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for january - august 2021 according to preliminary results is 1 862.1 million EUR, indicating the growth of 15.2% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 266.2 million EUR, and import was 1 595.9 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 15.4%, while imports increased by 15.2%.

The coverage of import by export was 16.7% and it is the same compared to the same period last year.

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Crude materials, inedible, except fuels (Section 2), in amount of 60.1 million EUR (consisted of Metalliferous ores and metal scrap - 35.5 million EUR, Cork and wood - 20.3 million EUR and other).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 338.5 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles - 95.4 million EUR, Electric machines, appliances - 68.8 million EUR and other).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (69.1 million EUR), Switzerland (21.5 million EUR) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (21.3 million EUR).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (321.2 million EUR), China (160.0 million EUR) and Germany (148.8 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
