Foreign trade - May 2022
The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for january – may 2022 according to preliminary results is 1 561.2 million EUR, indicating the growth of 54.3% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
The value of exports of goods was 336.2 million EUR, and import was 1 225.0 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased by 101.8%, while imports increased by 44.9%.
The coverage of import by export was 27.4% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 19.7%.
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 122.3 million EUR (consisted of Electric current – 115.1 million EUR and other).
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (Section 6) with 247.8 million EUR (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals – 62.1 million EUR, Non-metallic mineral manufactures – 49.2 million EUR and other).
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Switzerland (81.3 million EUR), Serbia (55.5 million EUR) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (48.5 million EUR).
Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (210.5 million EUR), China (117.0 million EUR) and Germany (96.7 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
