Primary production of coal in Montenegro in 2021 was 1 548.6 thousand tons of lignite. Total final consumption of coal in 2021 was 36.4 thousand tons, 21.3 thousand tons consumed in industry, while 15.1 thousand tons consumed in other sectors. For electricity production, as transformation input was used 1 366.8 thousand tons lignite.
