Quarterly transport statistics

Transport of passengers in the second quarter 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year records in: railway transport increase by 2.3%, road transport decrease by 2.4%, local road transport increase by 19.0%, and passengers in airports increase by 31.2%.
Transport of goods in the second quarter 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year records in: railway transport decrease by 42.1%, road transport increase by 7.1%, total traffic of goods in ports decrease by 27.9%, and goods in airports increase by 39.2%.
Number of transhipped tonnes in ports in the second quarter 2023 compared to the same quarter of the previous year decrease by 31.7%, and handled tonnes decrease by 34.9%.
Total number of traffic accidents1 in the second quarter 2023 was 1 609 which is 10.7% higher than in the same quarter of the previous year. Number of casualties2 in the second quarter 2023 was 853 (out of which there are 837 injured persons), which is 8.0% an increase of in the same quarter of the previous year.
Number of registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the second quarter 2023 is 72 386, which is an increase of 0.9% in comparison with the same quarter of the previous year. Number of the first-time registered road motor vehicles and trailers3 in the second quarter 2023 is 8 203, which is an increase of 23.3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
