Consumer price indices
Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in September 2023, as compared to August 2023, increased by 0.8% on average. Consumer prices in September 2023, as compared to September 2022, increased by 7.9% on average. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: shoes and other footwear; fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment; garments; solid fuels; other appliances, articles and products for personal care; education; actual rentals paid by tenants and other actual rentals. Consumer prices in period January-September 2023 compared to the same period of previous year, were higher for 9.9% in average.
Observing the main groups by purpose of consumption, in September 2023 as compared to August 2023, monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (8.4%); Education (2.7%); Transport (2.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (2.0%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.9%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.6%); Health (0.5%), while decrease of prices was recorded in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels (-3.5%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.7%). Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
