Utilized agricultural land in 2023 is 263 522.3 ha what is a increase of 3.9% compared to 2022. In total
utilized agricultural land areas, perennial meadows and pastures areas prevail with the share of 94.6%,
while arable land are present with 2.7%, permanent crops 2% and kitchen gardens 0.7%. In comparison
with 2022 perennial meadows and pastures area increased by 4%, arable land by 5,8%, while decrease
was on permanent crops by 2.8% and kitchen gardens 0.8%.
Total production of maize for grain in 2023 was 3 166,3 t, what is a rise of 12.5% compared to 2022. An
increase in production was also recorded in the following crops: pepper (1.3%), cucumber (3.7%),
watermelon (6.4%) and melon (3,6%).
Compared to 2022 an increase is recorded in total production of: mandarins (3.1%), while recorded lower
production of plums, apples, pears, peaches and olives.
Total production of grapes in 2023 records a decrease by 23.1% in comparison with previous year.
