19.07.2013Monthly deflation in June was -0.1%, while the annual inflation down to +1.5%
Monthly deflation measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices was -0.1% in June. This was influenced mostly by the decrease in prices of vegetables; garments; solid fuels; milk, cheese and eggs; non-durable household goods. Annual inflation in June was +1.5%, and it is lower than in May, when it was +2.1%.
When observing the main groups, monthly drop of prices was noticed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (-1.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.0%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.8%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.5%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (-0.2%); Recreation and culture (-0.1%), while a growth of prices was recorded in groups: Restaurants and Hotels (+3.0%); Miscellaneous goods and service (+1.1%); Transport (+0.2%).
Positive annual inflation rates in June were observed in the following groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+4.2%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.7%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+3.0%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+2.2%); Health (+1.6%); Communications (+1.1%); Clothing and footwear (+0.5%); Education (+0.2%); while negative annual inflation rates were observed in groups: Restaurants and Hotels (-2.1%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.3%); Transport (-1.1%); Recreation and culture (-0.2%).
