Based on the first estimates of Eurostat, the gross domestic product per capita in purchasing power standards in Montenegro in 2024 was 54% of the EU average.

In the winter semester 2025/2026, at the basic level, was enrolled 16 585, students, which is 2.2% more than in the winter semester of the previous academic year. The share of female was 59.1% (9 797), and 40.9% (6 788) of male students.

Turnover in the wholesale trade in Montenegro in 2025 was 4 102 mill EUR, which represents an increase of 8.2% compared to 2024. The largest share in total turnover trade have the groups in the field of nutrition which make 30.0% of total turnover in the wholesale trade.

The total value of finalised construction works and consumption of construction materials realized by business companies in Montenegro in 2025 amounted to EUR 704 million, which is 4.8% more than in 2024. The value of finalised construction works on buildings amounted to EUR 338 million, while on other buildings it amounted to EUR 365 million. In 2025, 2,205 dwellings with a useful floor area of 158 thousand m² are completed.

Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in May 2026, as compared to April 2026, increased by 0.4% on average. Consumer prices in May 2026, as compared to May 2025, increased by 3.6% on average.

The Director of the Statistical Office of Montenegro, Mr Miroslav Pejović, Acting Assistant Director Ms Branka Šušić Radovanović, MSc, and Assistant Director Ms Snežana Remiković participated in the 12th European Conference on Quality in Official Statistics (Q2026), held in Šibenik, Croatia, from 3 to 5 June, and organised by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics and Eurostat.
