External trade in goods of Montenegro January-September 2017

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for period January-September 2017 is EUR 1 953.8 million, indicating the growth of 9.4% in comparison with the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 272.7 million EUR, and import was 1 681 million EUR. compared with the same period of 2016, exports increased 17.8%, and imports increased 8.2%.

The coverage of import by export was 16.2% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of previous year (14.9%).

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (Section 6), in amount of EUR 77 million (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals - EUR 52.9 million, and Iron and steel - EUR 13.1 million).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with EUR 368.2 million (consisted of: Road vehicles - EUR 115.8 million, Electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances - EUR 67.5 million).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 45.7 million) Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUR 34 million) and Hong Kong (EUR 23.7 million).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 376.3 million), China (EUR 151.4 million) and Germany (EUR 138.9 million). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
