This release presents the data on reported, accused and convicted adult and juvenile persons – perpetrators of crime.
In 2010 there were 5 847 reported known perpetrators of crime, showing a decrease of 2% compared with 2009. The share of women is 11%. The number of unknown perpetrators of crime is 1 441, i.e. 25%.
Number of accused persons compared with the previous year decreased approx. 23%, and number of convicted persons decreased 27%. The share of accused and convicted adult women is approx. 8%.
In crimes against property present in highest number in 2010, share of reported is 25%, share of accused is 29%, and share of convicted persons is 27%.
During 2010 in Montenegro 316 reports were against juvenile perpetrators of crime, showing an increase of 2% compared with 2009. The share of women is 5%. Number of accused juvenile persons compared with the previous year decreased 29%, and number of convicted persons decreased 30%. The share of women in accused and convicted juvenile persons is approx. 5%. In crimes against property, share of reported is 52%, share of accused is 41%, and share of convicted is 38%.
