External trade in goods of Montenegro January - December 2020
The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for period January - December 2020 according to preliminary results is 2 469.6 million EUR, indicating the decrease of 18.1% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
The value of exports of goods was 365.9 million EUR, and import was 2 103.7 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports decreased by 11.9%, while imports decreased by 19.1%.
The coverage of import by export was 17.4% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 16.0%.
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Crude materials, inedible, except fuels (Section 2), in amount of 81.0 million EUR (consisted of Metalliferous ores and metal scrap – 46.5 million EUR, Cork and wood – 29.8 million EUR and other).
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 485.0 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles – 122.2 million EUR, Electric machines, appliances – 110.7 million EUR and other).
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (101.0 million EUR), Slovenia (35.8 million EUR) and Kosovo (23.4 million EUR).
Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (414.9 million EUR), China (218.0 million EUR) and Germany (204.0 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
