The data in this release refer to number and structure of population by legal marital status, partnership of the same sex and consensual union with partner.

The marital status is presented for the population aged 15 and over, comprising 511 189 inhabitants, of which 262 653 are women, and men are 248 536.

Of the total number of population aged 15 and over, married are 52.72%, never married are 32.67%, 9.55% are widowed while 4.54% population is divorced.

When observing by municipalities the highest percentage of population is married in Ulcinj – 61.89% while the lowest is in Andrijevica – 42.52%.

The highest number of divorced are in Budva where 6.42% population is divorced. Municipalities with less than 2% divorced are Pluzine and Tuzi.

Of the total number of population aged 15 and over, 3.25% live in consensual union with partner.

In the legal partnership with a person of the same sex there are 96 persons. Of these, 16 persons have citizenship of Montenegro while 80 persons are foreign citizens.
