This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the 2012 and the observation period was from January to December 2012. The surveying was done in 8 702 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (26 513 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (21 782 persons).

According to data for four quarter in the 2012 labor force in Montenegro consist of 250.4 thousand of active population. From that number there were: 201.0  thousand persons in employment and 49.4 thousand unemployed persons. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous year has increased 2.6% and the number of unemployed persons has increased 2.7%. The activity rate for the 2012 is 50.0%, the employment rate is 40.1% and unemployment rate is 19.7%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age group are: the activity rate is 58.7%, the employment rate is 47.0% and the unemployment rate is 19.9%.
