In secondary schools in Montenegro at the beginning of school year 2012/2013 there were 31 858 enrolment of pupils; of those 15 584 are women, i.e. 48.9%.
The number of pupils enrolled in secondary schools decreased for 1.8% compared with the previous school year, while the number of pupils enrolled in the first grade of school is lower for 4%.
The highest number of secondary school pupils is in Podgorica, 32.6%, while there are only 1.6% of the total number of secondary school pupils, in Andrijevica, Savnik, Pluzine, and Zabljak.
Observing the field of study, there are 10 401 pupils or 32.6% in gymnasium; economy, law, and administration 5 313 or 16.7%; trade, hotels, and tourism 4 968 or 15.6%; while other fields of study makes 35.1%.
In resource centres for children with special educational needs, in Montenegro, 202 pupils were enrolled at the begining of school year 2012/2013, 43.1% of them being girls.
