Gross national income is based on EU Regulations 549/2013 and 1287/2003.
Methodological notes
Gross national income (GNI) is the sum of GDP and balance of primary incomes (from labor and capital) from the rest of the world. While the GDP measures production, GNI is a measure of income. In the system of national accounts, this aggregate is a balancing item of the allocation of primary income account of the total economy.
Data sources
The calculation of gross national income is based on data from regular surveys of MONSTAT and Central Bank of Montenegro.
Transitional items arising from the balance of payments statistics, which is the responsibility of the Central Bank. Balance of payments of Montenegro is made in accordance with the methodology of the International Monetary Fund.
