Legal basis for conducting the survey in the area of crop production statistics is Law on Official Statistics and Official Statistical System of Montenegro (Official Gazette of Montenegro 18/12).
METHODOLOGICAL BASES
Purpose of survey
The purpose of survey in the area of crop production statistics is to collect, process, and disseminate data on the size of land resources by: land use categories; number of fruit trees and vine plants; land under certain crops; quantity of expected and realised yields; and agricultural product processing.
Data sources
The data on business entities are collected by using the reporting method on the basis of accounting records and other types of records. The data on family agricultural holdings are collected by using the estimation method by the side of statistical estimators. The statistical estimators perform estimations on the basis of observing phenomena and by the help of well-known facts (the Cadastre data by utilised land categories, estimation from previous years, information collected from agricultural producers and experts, and their personal observations).
Coverage
There are covered business entities classified by the activity classification in sector A–Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (agricultural enterprises and agricultural cooperatives), and area of estimation for family agricultural holdings.
Obligation to protect individual data
Statistical confidentiality is guaranteed. Results obtained through surveys are only used for statistical purposes, and they are published at the aggregated level.
