Consumer price index (CPI) September 2013


Monthly inflation in September was +0.1%, while the annual inflation down to +1.8%

Monthly inflation measured by Consumer price index was +0.1% in September, while the annual inflation down to +1.8%. This was influenced mostly by the increase in prices of: solid fuels; fuels nad lubricants for personal transport equipment; vegetables; shoes and other footwear, repair and hire of footwear; tobacco; garments etc.

When observing the main groups monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.2%); Transport (+1.0%); Clothing and footwear (+0.7%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.2%); Recreation and culture (+0.2%), while a drop of prices is recorded in groups: Restaurants and hotels (-1.9%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.5%); Health (-0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.1%).

Prices in the groups: Communications and Education remain at the same level as in the previous month.

Positive annual inflation rates in September were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+8.1%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+3.9%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.5%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+2.5%); Health (+2.2%); Clothing and footwear (+0.5%); Education (+0.2%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Recreation and culture (-2.9%); Transport (-2.3%); Hotels and restaurants (-1.7%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.8%); Communications (-0.6%).
