Consumer price index (CPI) October 2013


Monthly deflation in October was -0.2%, while the annual inflation down to 0.5%

Monthly deflation measured by Consumer price index was -0.2% in October, while annual inflation down to +0.5%. This was influenced mostly by the decrease in prices of: fuels and lubricats for personal transport equipment; milk, cheese and egs; fruit; bread and cereals; oils and fats; accommodation services.

When observing the main groups monthly drop of prices was noticed in the following groups: Transport (-1.8%); Restaurants and hotels (-1.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.9%); Communications (-0.2%), while a growth of prices is recorded in groups: Clothing and footwear (+4.8%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+0.7%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+0.3%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+0.2%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.1%). Prices in the groups: Health; Recreation and culture; Education remain at the same level as in the previous month.

Positive annual inflation rates in October were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+7.7%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+4.6%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.9%); Health (+1.5%); Clothing and footwear (+1.3%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.3%); Education (+0.2%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Transport (-3.4%); Recreation and culture (-2.6%); Communications (-0.7%); Hotels and restaurants (-0.7%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.5%).
