Consumer price index (CPI) August 2015

Monthly inflation in August was 0.1%
 
Monthly inflation measured by Consumer price index was 0.1% in August 2015, while the annual inflation was 1.9%. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: vegetables; solid fuels; milk, cheese and eggs; fruit etc. Consumer prices in period January-August 2015 compared to the same period of the previous year were higher for 1.6%.
 
When observing the main groups monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.9%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.7%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.1%), while drop of prices was recorded in the following groups: Transport (-2.1%); Clothing and footwear (-1.8%); Restaurants and hotels (-0.5%); Recreation and culture (-0.1%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.1%). Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
 

Positive annual inflation rates in August were observed in the following groups: Restaurants and hotels (4.7%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (3.9%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.1%); Health (2.4%); Clothing and footwear (2.2%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.0%); Recreation and culture (0.8%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.5%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in groups: Transport (-4.0%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.6%); Communications (-0,1%).
