Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) August 2016

 Monthly inflation in August 2016 mesaured by HICP was 0.1%

 
Consumer prices in Montenegro, measured by HICP, in August 2016 increased by 0,1% at the average as compared to July 2016. Consumer prices in August 2016 remained stable compared to August 2015. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: vegetables; meat; fruit; shoes and other footwear; sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery; other appliances, articles and products for personal care etc.
 
Observing the main groups, monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.7%); Health (0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (0.3%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.2%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.2%); Recreation and culture (0.1%), while a monthly drop of prices was recorded in groups: Transport (-1.4%); Clothing and footwear (-0.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.1%); Restaurants and hotels (-0.1%).
 
Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
 
Positive annual inflation rates in August 2016 were observed in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (4.1%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (2.5%); Health (2.4%); Restaurants and Hotels (2.4%); Communications (0.6%); Recreation and culture (0.1%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Transport (-5.7%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.2%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-1.1%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.7%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.6%).
