External trade in goods of Montenegro January-May 2017

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for period January-May 2017 is EUR 987.4 million, indicating the growth of 10.4% in comparison with the previous year.
 
The value of exports of goods was 141.3 million EUR, and import was 846 million EUR. Compared with the same period of 2016, exports increased 22.7%, and imports increased 8.6%.
 
The coverage of import by export was 16.7% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of previous year (14.8%).
 
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Crude materials, inedible, except fuels (Section 2), in amount of EUR 43 million (consisted of: Metalliferous ores and metal scrap - EUR 31.3 million, and Cork and wood - EUR 8.6 million).
 
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with EUR 202.4 million (consisted of: Electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances - EUR 37.1 million, General industrial machinery and equipment - EUR 37.4 million).
 
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 25 million) Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUR 18.4 million) and Hong Kong (EUR 16 million).
 

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 181.5 million), China (EUR 77.1 million) and Germany (EUR 73.6 million). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
