External trade in goods of Montenegro January-August 2017

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for period January-August 2017 is EUR 1 729.4 million, indicating the growth of 9.1% in comparison with the previous year.
 
The value of exports of goods was 242.1 million EUR, and import was 1 487.2 million EUR. compared with the same period of 2016, exports increased 19.5%, and imports increased 7.6%.
 
The coverage of import by export was 16.3% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same period of previous year (14.7%).
 
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Crude materials, inedible, except fuels (Section 2), in amount of EUR 67.6 million (consisted of: Metalliferous ores and metal scrap - EUR 44.9 million, and Cork and wood - EUR 17.9 million).
 
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with EUR 331.1 million (consisted of: Road vehicles - EUR 104.2 million, General industrial machinery and equipment - EUR 60.6 million).
 
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 40.5 million) Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUR 30.4 million) and Hong Kong (EUR 21.4 million).
 

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (EUR 334 million), China (EUR 134.9 million) and Germany (EUR 122.7 million). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
