External trade in goods of Montenegro January 2019

The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for month January 2019 is 155.3 million EUR, indicating the growth of 6.1% in comparison with the previous year.

The value of exports of goods was 26.6 million EUR, and import was 128.7 million EUR. compared with the same period of 2018, exports increased 2.7%, and imports increased 6.8%.

The coverage of import by export was 20.7% and it was lower compared to the coverage for the same period of previous year (21.5%).

In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (Section 6), in amount of 7.8 million EUR (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals - 4.8 million EUR, and Iron and steel – 2.3 million EUR etc.).

In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) with 29.5 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles - 9.7 million EUR, Electrical machinery, apparatus and appliances - 6.3 million EUR etc.).

Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (6.1 million EUR), Hungary (3.6 million EUR) and Czech Republic (2.5 million EUR).

Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (19.8 million EUR), China (12.9 million EUR) and Germany (12.4 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
