Foreign trade
The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for january 2022 according to preliminary results is 208.8 million EUR, indicating the growth of 61.8% in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The value of exports of goods was 64.3 million EUR, and import was 144.4 million EUR. Compared to the same month last year, exports increased by 154.1%, while imports increased by 39.2%.
The coverage of import by export was 44.6% and it was higher compared to the coverage for the same month of the previous year when it was 24.4%.
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials (Section 3), in amount of 26.9 million EUR (consisted of Electric current – 25.6 million EUR and other).
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (Section 6) with 31.4 million EUR (consisted of: Non-ferrous metals - 9.8 million EUR, Iron and steel – 5.7 million EUR and other).
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Switzerland (16.3 million EUR), Serbia (10.9 million EUR) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (7.5 million EUR).
Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (24.0 million EUR), China (16.6 million EUR) and Germany (11.5 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
