Quarterly statistics of transport
Transport of passengers in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same quarter of the previous year increased in: rail transport by 16.8%; road transport by 44.9%; local road by 39.6%; and passenger transport at airports 7.4%.
The transport of goods in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same quarter last year increased in: rail transport by 41.9%; and total turnover of goods in ports by 83.1%. But, it decreased in transport of goods at airports, by 14.3%.
Number of transshiped tonnes in the ports in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same quarter of the previous year increased by 85.7%, as well as handled tonnes by 156.8%.
Total number of injury accidents on roads in the third quarter 2022 was 1 599, which is 18.0% less than in the same quarter of previous year. Number of casualies in the third quarter 2022 amounted 905 (out of which there were 883 injuries), which is 12.0% less than the same quarter of previous year.
Number of registered road motor vehicles and trailers is 71 815 in the third quarter 2022, which is a increase of 2.4% in comparison with the same quarter of the previous year. Number of first time registered road motor vehicles and trailers3 in the third quarter 2022 is 4 626 which is a decrease of 0.9% compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
In the third quarter of 2022, there were transported 235 thousands tonnes of goods by road freight motor vehicles, with performed 27 810 thousand tonne-kilometers. Kilometres travelled by loaded vehicles were 1 294 thousands kilometres. Share of inland transport in the structure of transported goods is 90.2% or 212 thousands tonnes of goods, while international transport participates with 9.8%, or 23 thousands tonnes of goods. In the structure of performed tonne-kilometers, inland transport participates with 66.3% or 18 446 thousands tonne-kilometers, and international transport with 33.7% or 9 364 thousands tonne-kilometers.
