In the first quarter of 2023 there was an increase in the slaughter of cattle in slaughterhouses in Montenegro. Number of slaughtered cattle is 8 029 or 5.7% more than in the first quarter of 2022. The net weight of slaughtered cattle in the first quarter of 2022 increased by 10.6%.

The total number of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 19.8% compared to the first quarter 2022. The net weight of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 43.9%. The total number of slaughtered pigs decreased compared to the same quarter of 2022, while the total number of slaughtered poultry increased by 19.3%.
