This year under motto “Official Statistics, a window for understanding society“ – on 20 October is celebrated the European Statistics Day.

This day aims to raise the awareness on the importance of official statistics as a basis for analyses and understandings of social and economic structures and processes, which contributes to better decision making at all levels.

The official statistics plays a key role in understanding society because it provides quantitative data on different aspects of life, including demography, economy, health, and education. These data contribute to analysing of trends, decision making and creating policies and strategies.

Transparency and accessibility of official statistical data are a key for strengthening the trust of public in institutions and fostering active participation of citizens in social issues.

Mission of Montenegro official statistical system is to provide reliable, quality, timely, and internationally comparable official statistical data for the needs of all users. The production of official statistical data is done based on statistical standards, by using modern technologies, with respecting statistical confidentiality.

Statistical Office of Montenegro – MONSTAT is joining to the celebration of this date, and wish a Happy European Statistics Day to statisticians and all official statistical data users.
