In the first quarter of 2026 there was a decrease in the slaughter of cattle in slaughterhouses in Montenegro. Number of slaughtered cattle is 6 357 or 13.2 % less than in the first quarter of 2025. The net weight of slaughtered cattle in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 13.1%.
The total number of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 10.7% compared to the first quarter 2025. The net weight of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 20.1%.The total number of slaughtered pigs shows an increase of 29.6% to the same quarter of 2025. The total number of slaughtered poultry decreased by 18.9 %.
