This release contains data received through the Labour Force Survey, conducted in the 2011, and the observation period was from January to December 2011. The surveying was done in 8 758 households on the territory of Montenegro. The survey collected data about demographic characteristics for members of the households (26 640 persons were surveyed), and data about economic activity for persons aged 15 and more (22 710 persons, which makes 1.2% of the total number of interwied persons aged 15 and more).

According to data for four quarter in the 2011 labor force in Montenegro consist of 244.1 thousands of active population. From that number there were: 196.0 thousand employed or 80,3%; unemployed 48.1 thousands or 19,7%. The number of employed in comparison with the previous year has decreased 6.4% and the number of unemployed has decreased 6.2% . The activity rate for the 2011 is 48.7%, the employment rate is 39.1% and unemployment rate is 19.7%. Measures of the activity of the population for 15-64 age group are: the activity rate is 57.3%, the employment rate is 45.9% and the unemployment rate is 19.9%.
