Legal basis
Legal basis for conducting this statistical survey is the Law on Official Statistics and Official Statistical System of Montenegro (Official Gazette of Montenegro 18/12).

METHODOLOGICAL BASIS

Purpose of survey
Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) is an efficient mean in the cross-country comparisons of gross domestic product. Since it also includes the price influence, this is the best indicator of economic situation in one country.
Purchasing Power Parity is a mean for converting national currency in the common making equal purchasing power of different national values. 
 
Data sources
The data sources for Purchasing power parity are statistical reports on prices filled and submitted by employed interviewers from Podgorica. Prices are collected for products corresponding to the Eurostat list with product descriptions which is the same for all countries participating in the project.

Obligation to protect individual data
Individual data on the natural or legal persons are confidential and constitutes an official secret in accordance with Article 56 of the Law on Official Statistics and Official Statistical System of Montenegro (Official Gazette of Montenegro 18/12).
