Consumer price indices January 2020

Prices of goods and services for personal consumption, measured by consumer price index, in January 2020, as compared to December 2019, increased by 0.1% on average. Consumer prices in January 2020, as compared to January 2019, increased by 1.5%. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: solid fuels; meat; cigarettes; cultural services; oil and fats; fruit; bread and cereals. Consumer prices in 2019, increased by 0.4% on average, in relation to 2018.
 
Observing by main groups by purpose of consumption, in January 2020, as compared to December 2019, monthly increase of prices was noticed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.8%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.8%); Recreation and culture (0.6%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.2%), while decrease of prices was recorded in the following groups: Clothing and footwear (-1.0%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.7%); Restaurants and hotels (-0.5%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.2%).
 

Prices of other products and services mostly remained unchanged.
