Quarterly statistics of transport II quarter 2020

Due to the pandemic of the virus COVID-19 in the second quarter of 2020, there was a decline in passenger transport in all modes of transport.

Transport of passengers in the second quarter of 2020, compared to the same quarter of the previous year decreased in rail transport for 77.7%, road transport by 83.6%, local road for 63.7%, the carriage of passengers at airports by 98.7%, scheduled air transport for 97.9% and non scheduled air for 78.2%.

The transport of goods in the second quarter of 2020, compared to the same quarter last year decreased on the rail transport for 22.9%, total turnover of goods in ports by 3.6% and in transport of goods on the airports by 98.6%.

Number of trans-shipment tonnes in the ports in the second quarter of 2020, compared to the same quarter of the previous year increased by 6.7%, in the manipulated tonnes by 2.2%.

Total number of injury accidents on roads in the second quarter 2020 totaled 949 which is 37.9% less than the same quarter of previous year. Number of casualies in the second quarter 2020 amounted to 420 (of which 410 injuries), which is 42.6% less than the same quarter of previous year.

Number of registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the second quarter 2020 is 59 959 which is a decrease of 13.4% in comparison with the same quarter of previous year. Number of second time registered road motor vehicles and trailers3 in the second quarter 2020 is 3 430 which is a decrease of 51.8% in comparison with the same quater of previous year.

In the second quarter of 2020 road goods motor vehicles transported a 192 thousands tons of goods and performed 18 336 thousand tonne-kilometers. Kilometres travelled by loaded vehicles was 993 thousands kilometres. In the structure of transported goods, national transport participates with 92.7% or 178 thousands tons of goods, while international transport participates with 7.3%, or 14 thousands tons of goods. In the structure of performed tonne-kilometers internal transport participates with 70.1% or 12 847 thousands tonne-kilometers and international transport with 29.9% or 5 489 thousands tonne-kilometers.
