Quarterly statistics of transport

Transport of passengers in the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to the same quarter of the previous year increased in: rail transport for 30.2% road transport by 49.8% local road for 90.5% and passenger transport at airports 66.4%.

The transport of goods in the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to the same quarter last year increased in the total turnover of goods in ports by 24.5%. But, it decreased in rail transport by 10.8% and transport of goods at airports by 7.8%.

Number of transshiped tonnes in the ports in the fourth quarter of 2022, compared to the same quarter of the previous year increased by 14.7%, as well as handled tonnes by 16.6%.

Total number of injury accidents1 on roads in the fourth quarter 2022 is 1 461, which is 2.8% less than the same quarter of previous year. Number of casualties2 in the fourth quarter 2022 is 751 (of which 732 injuries), which is 4.0% more than the same quarter of previous year.
Number of registered road motor vehicles and trailers in the fourth quarter 2022 is 70 845 which is a increase of 7.0% in comparison with the same quarter of previous year. Number of first time registered road motor vehicles and trailers3 in the fourth quarter 2022 is 6 353 which is a increase of 35.7% in comparison with the same quarter of previous year.

In the fourth quarter of 2022 road goods motor vehicles transported a 205 thousands tonnes of goods and performed 28 779 thousand tonne-kilometers. Kilometres travelled by loaded vehicles was 1 364 thousands kilometres. In the structure of transported goods, national transport participates with 85.4% or 175 thousands tons of goods, while international transport participates with 14.6%, or 30 thousands tonnes of goods. In the structure of performed tonne-kilometers internal transport participates with 58.2% or 16 740 thousands tonne-kilometers and international transport with 41.8% or 12 039 thousands tonne-kilometers.
