Capacity Building on Sustainable Compilation of Real Sector Statistics in Eastern Europe
IMF Statistics Department’s (STA) is launching three years project, financed Government of Japan, through the Administered Account for Selected IMF Activities.
The main objective of the project is to assist nine East Europe countries in improving the accuracy of the national accounts estimates and price statistics. The project is supported by three long-term resident real sector advisors, and consists of several workshops and missions within three years.

Technical assistance report on the national accounts statistics mission
Statistical Office of Montenegro was a host of the IMF mission in period from 10 to 17 September 2014. The participants of the mission were, representatives of Central Bank of Montenegro and IMF staff members and NA staff members of Statistical Office.

NA statistics mission
In response to a request from the authorities, a national accounts statistics mission visited Podgorica during September 4–11, 2013 to provide assistance to the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT). The main objective of the mission was to assist MONSTAT staff compile estimates for GDP for 2012 and to agree on a work plan for establishing a compilation system for quarterly national accounts (QNA).

Report on the National Accounts Statistics
In response to a request from the authorities, a national accounts (NA) statistics mission visited Podgorica during August 22–September 2, 2011 to provide assistance to the Statistical Office of Montenegro (MONSTAT).
The main objective of the mission was to assist MONSTAT staff compile estimates for GDP for 2010 and to continue developing the system for compiling quarterly national accounts (QNA).

Report of the Real Sector Statistics Advisor
As part of the technical assistance (TA) program of the IMF Statistics Department, and with the support of the European Department of the IMF (EUR), MONSTAT had a Long-Term Advisor in real sector statistics for Montenegro during the period August 2, 2009–August 1, 2010. The assignment was financed by the Government of Japan through the Administered Account for Selected IMF Activities.
The main objective of the project was to assist the authorities in developing a compilation system for national accounts and foreign trade statistics (FTS). The Advisor’s core activities focused on compiling estimates of gross domestic product (GDP) by production and expenditure components at current and at constant prices, improving the accuracy of the Foreign Trade Statistics (FTS), and developing imports/exports price indices. Other activities included assisting the authorities in developing source data for national accounts and improving the basic economic statistics.

Technical Note on the National Accounts Statistics Mission
The mission was a follow up to the Statistics Department’s (STA) national accounts missions conducted in April 2007, following a work plan to improve the national accounts estimates that was developed and agreed with the authorities.
The objective of the mission was to assists the authorities on compiling the annual national accounts (NA) estimates for 2006 and on improving the data sources and statistical techniques used for compiling annual accounts.
