Monthly deflation measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices was -0.3% in September. This was influenced mostly by the decrease in prices of: accommdation services; fruit; bread and cereals; meat; milk, cheese and eggs. Annual inflation in September was +1.5%, and it is lower than in August, when it was +1.7%.

When observing the main groups, monthly drop of prices was noticed in the following groups: Restaurants and Hotels (-2.8%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.5%); Health (-0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and service (-0.3%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.1%); while a growth of prices was recorded in groups: Transport (+1.0%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+0.8%); Clothing and footwear (+0.7%); Recreation and culture (+0.4%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.1%).

Positive annual inflation rates in September were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+8.0%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+3.8%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+3.5%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+3.3%); Health (+1.9%); Clothing and footwear (+0.7%); Education (+0.2%); while negative annual inflation rates were observed in groups: Transport (-1.8%); Recreation and culture (-1.6%); Communications (-0.7%); Restaurants and Hotels (-0.6%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.4%).
