Monthly deflation in April was -0,2%


Monthly deflation measured by Consumer price index was -0.2% in April, while the annual inflation down to -1.4%. This was influenced mostly by the decrease in prices of: meat; fruit; solid fuels; milk, cheese and eggs; other food products and vegetables.

When observing the main groups monthly drop of prices was noticed in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-0.7%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.3%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.2%), while a growth of prices is recorded in groups: Clothing and footwear (+1.7%); Transport (+0.2%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.1%). Prices in groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance; Health; Communications; Recreation and culture; Education; Restaurants and hotels remained at the same level as in the previous month.

Positive annual inflation rates in April were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+7.5%); Health (+2.5%); Transport (+1.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+1.3%); Restaurants and hotels (+0.6%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Communications (-4.3%); Recreation and culture (-4.3%); Clothing and footwear (-3.9%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.4%).
