18.07.2014Monthly inflation in June was +0.8% while the annual inflation was +0.2%
Monthly inflation measured by Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices was +0.8% in June. This was influenced mostly by increase in prices of: accommodation services; bread and cerelas; fruit; meat; catering services; actual rentals etc.
When observing the main groups, monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Restaurants and Hotels (+3.0%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+0.9%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+0.6%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+0.6%); while a drop of prices was recorded in groups: Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-0.3%); Clothing and footwear (-0.1%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.1%).
European Union annual inflation was 0.7% in May 2014, up from 0.6% in March, while Euro area annual inflation was 0.5%, stable compared with May. In Montenegro, in June 2014, consumer prices measured by the HICP, compared with the same month last year were higher for 0.2%.
Positive annual inflation rates in June were observed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+6.2%); Health (+2.2%); Clothing and footwear (+2.0%); Transport (+1.7%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+1.6%); Restaurants and Hotels (+1.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+0.8%), while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Recreation and culture (-3.1%); Communications (-3.0%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.7%); Food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.6%).
