International trade in goods of Montenegro
The total external trade in goods of Montenegro for January-February 2024 according to preliminary results is 637.3 million EUR, indicating the growth of 0.4% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.
The value of exports of goods was 107.9 million EUR, and import was 529.4 million EUR. Compared to the same period last year, exports decreased by 31.9%, while imports increased by 11.2%.
The coverage of import by export was 20.4%, and it was lower compared to the coverage for the same period of the previous year when it was 33.3%.
In the structure of exports, in accordance with the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7), in amount of 34.2 million EUR (consisted of Other transport equipment – 26.0 million EUR and other).
In the structure of imports, in accordance with the SITC, the most present products were Machinery and transport equipment (Section 7) in amount of 137.9 million EUR (consisted of: Road vehicles - 54.4 million EUR and other).
Main trading partners in exports on an individual basis were: Serbia (30.2 million EUR), Czech Republic (12.5 million EUR) and Poland (10.9 million EUR).
Main trading partners in imports on an individual basis were: Serbia (81.9 million EUR), China (64.5 million EUR) and Germany (58.1 million EUR). The highest external trade was with CEFTA parties and the EU member states.
