In the first quarter of 2024 there was a decrease in the slaughter of cattle in slaughterhouses in Montenegro. Number of slaughtered cattle is 7 316 or 8.9 % less than in the first quarter of 2023. The net weight of slaughtered cattle in the first quarter of 2023 decreased by 6.9 %.
The total number of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 18% compared to the first quarter 2023. The net weight of slaughtered sheep in the first quarter of 2024 increased by 12.1 %. The total number of slaughtered pigs increased by 13.6% compared to the same quarter of 2023, while the total number of slaughtered poultry decreased by 17.6%.
