The purpose of statistics on births and deaths is to collect the data necessary for the analysis of natural changes population in Montenegro and municipalities, births, fertility, mortality, and other indicators. The aim of birth and death statistics is to describe natural population changes through the number of live births and deaths.

• In 2024, the natural increase in Montenegro is positive, and it is 648;
• In Montenegro in 2024, there were born 6 977 live births children, 3 572 or 51.2% are boys, and 3 405 or 48.8% are girls;
• In the same year there were 6 329 deaths. Out of that number, 3 284 are male, and 3 045 are female.
