The number of students who completed primary education in school year 2011/12 is 8 250.

Out of this number, 8 213 students completed primary school, which is decrease of 2.9%, compared to previous school year 2010/11. Following old educational program, 198 students,or 2.4%, completed primary education, and 8 018 or 97.6% by new educational program, i.e. nine years primary school. From the total number, 48.5% were female students.

In the resource centers and special classes of primary schools for education of children with special educational needs in school year 2011/12, 34 pupils completed primary school which represents decrease of 15% compared to previous school year 2010/11. From that number, 47.1% were female students.
