Monthly inflation in May was +0.2%, while the annual inflation down to 3.0%


Monthly inflation measured by Consumer price index was +0.2% in May, while annual inflation down to +3.0%. This was influenced mostly by the increase in vegetables and fruit; non-durable household goods; tobacco and accomodation services.
When observing the main groups monthly growth of prices was noticed in the following groups: Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+2.0%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (+1.4%), Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+1.2%); Restaurants and hotels (+0.8%); Recreation and culture (+0.5%); Health (+0.2%); while a drop of prices is recorded in groups: Clothing and footwear (-4.2%); Communications (-1.4%); Transport (-0.4%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (-0.1%); Miscellaneous goods and services (-0.1%). Prices in the group Education remain at the same level as in the previous month.

Positive annual inflation rates in May were observed in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6.3%); Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (+4.4%); Miscellaneous goods and services (+3.1%); Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (+2.5%); Clothing and footwear (+2.3%); Communications (+2.0%); Health (+1.7%); Recreation and culture (+1.1%); Education (+0.2%); while negative annual inflation rates were observed in the following groups: Transport (-4.4%); Furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance (-1.4%); Hotels and restaurants (-1.1%).
