The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) prepared the Recommendations for the 2020 Censuses of Population and Housing. This document is available at the following link.
The European Commission and the Council of the European Union adopted the regulations on population and housing censuses, as it follows:
Framework regulation:
- 763/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council on population and housing censuses
Implementing regulations:
- 543/2017: Technical specifications of the topics and of their breakdowns;
- 712/2017: Reference year and the programme of the statistical data and metadata for population and housing census;
- 881/2017: Modalities and structure of the quality reports and the technical format for data transmission;
- 1799/2018: Dissemination of selected topics of the 2021 population and housing census geocoded to a 1 km2 grid.
