Economic accounts for forestry
The Economic Accounts for Forestry are compiled in accordance with internationally harmonized concepts and rules defined by Regulation (EU) No 691/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 July 2011 on European environmental economic accounts, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2024/3024, which introduced the Forest Accounts module.
Forest Accounts are compiled in accordance with the principles of the European System of National and Regional Accounts (ESA 2010) and the methodological recommendations set out in the European Forest Accounts Handbook 2024.
The Economic Accounts for Forestry provide data on output, intermediate consumption, gross value added and other economic indicators of forestry, enabling the monitoring of the economic importance of the sector, analysis of changes and international comparisons.
