In its Montenegro Progress Report 2026, the European Commission noted that Montenegro had made good progress under Chapter 18 – Statistics and confirmed that the country had a good level of preparation in this area. The recommendations from the previous report were largely implemented, with recognised achievements in improving statistical methodologies, transmitting data to Eurostat, and increasing the production and dissemination of statistics in line with European standards.

The turnover index in services in the third quarter of 2026, compared to the third quarter of 2025, increased by 8.6%.

The average earnings (gross) in Montenegro in September 2026 are 1 245 euro, while the average earnings without taxes and contributions (net) are 1 043 euro.

In Montenegro, 100.0% of surveyed enterprises reported on the use of internet in their activities. All data in this release refer to enterprises which use the internet in 2026. Percentage of enterprises with a website is 88.8% in 2026. In the five-year period, an increase in number of enterprises having a website is recorded. In 2026, the percentage of enteprises that have a website increased by 3.8 percentage points (from 85.0% to 88.8%), compared to 2022.
