This release contains the data received through the Labour Force Survey conducted in the fourth quarter 2025. The interviewing was done in 1 772 households on the territory of Montenegro. There were collected data about demographic characteristics for all members of the households (4 537 persons were surveyed), and, in addition, also data about economic activity for persons aged 15 to 89 (3 885 persons).
According to the data for the fourth quarter of 2025, there were 307.7 thousand of active population in Montenegro, out of which there were 274.2 thousand of employed persons, or 89.1%, and 33.5 thousand of unemployed2, or 10.9%. The number of persons in employment in comparison with the previous quarter has decreased 3.9%, while the number of unemployed in comparison with the previous quarter has increased 5.0%.
There were 202.3 thousand of persons outside the labour force (15 to 89 years old). The number of persons outside the labour force in comparison with the previous quarter has increased 5.1%.
For the persons aged 15 to 89 in the fourth quarter 2025, activity rate is 60.3%; employment rate is 53.8%; unemployment rate is 10.9%, and population outside the labour force rate is 39.7%.
